STAM CHAIR WITH ARMRESTS
Leather chair with armrests and metal frame
Product details
Mart Stam’s fame as a designer comes almost exclusively from his invention of the homonimous chair which is characterized by its semplicity. Stam first built a prototype for his wife, using pieces of pipes and "L"-shaped joints. Wthin a few weeks (1926), when Stam had shown his ideas at the Stuttgart exhibition, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer came out with cantilevered chairs of their own, improving on Stam’s original idea, which included a crossbar between the front vertical. The Stam Chair with armrests by IBFOR faithfully follows in its reproduction the design of the original: it has a chromed tubular steel, to which you attach the seat and back, both in reinforced full grain leather.
